Drew Thompson shot this dandy buck on the weekend after Halloween 2014. It was his second weekend hunting with his new crossbow. It was a long morning, Drew was late getting into the woods, he had peed of his stand, and was bored. However it was such a beautiful morning, Drew decided to sit one more hour until 11am. He saw some deer chasing off in the distance while he was on the phone with his dad. The deer started running his direction so he hung up his phone. The deer came right to his stand and the buck stopped about 40 yards away. Drew could see it was a nice buck. He contemplated the distance, but after the buck didn't move he decided to let her fly. The arrow (bolt) sailed true. Drew didn't realize just how magnificent this buck was until he finally got down and walked to the deer resting spot. The antlers on this deer have amazing diameter, the biggest we've seen on the Feather's farm. Congrats Drew on your 2nd "Buck of a Lifetime"! (see 2007 for his first)
Grandpa and Granddaughter. Here you can see the two bucks that rounded out the gun season for the Feather's farm. Cameron shot a nice 8 pt and the handsome 6pt belongs to his granddaughter Mia. This is Mia's first deer ever. Congrats Mia on a clean shot without any instructions from Dad!
